Our team met fifteen years ago, working on the Investors in People programme and we have been friends and colleagues ever since.

We have decades of business experience between us and have worked with all kinds of businesses across all sectors. Our combined expertise means that we have the benefit of experience and and draw on many, many case studies over the years to give you the best possible advice and guidance to make your business thrive.

Dr Fred Ayres, founder and Director of ALC

Fred is a highly experienced consultant, manager and facilitator who has worked in Japan and South America as well as the UK. He has extensive experience of working with organisations of all sectors and sizes, especially in the areas of strategic leadership and organisational development. He helps organisations to refocus their vision and strategic thinking and change the ways in which people approach work.

Fred has a PhD in organisational development, an MBA, a BSc (Hons) in psychology and is a Chartered Manager, Certified Management Consultant and an Investors in People Specialist.

Colin Cheyne

Colin Cheyne – Associate Consultant

Colin’s 40 year career is split evenly across industry sectors up to director level, owning and running hotels, and latterly providing business support to a wide range of organisations. He has extensive experience of business planning and improving organisational effectiveness through examination of structure and levels of employee engagement. He also has considerable experience of measuring performance against key criteria and quality standards such as Investors in People.

Colin has an MA in geography, is a Certified Management Consultant and a fellow of the British Institute of Innkeeping.

Derek Dobson

Derek Dobson – Associate Consultant

Derek is an experienced consultant, manager and trainer who has worked in South Africa, throughout the Middle East and the UK. He has extensive knowledge of the application of quality standards, such as ISO 9000, Specialist Quality Mark for legal services and Investors in People. Derek has wide ranging experience of providing organisational, management and staff development within SMEs, particularly in the manufacturing, service and care sectors.

He is a Certified Management Consultant, a nationally registered ISO 9000 Advisor and an Assessor/Internal Verifier for management NVQs.

Neil Corrigan

Neil Corrigan – Associate Consultant

Neil has over 20 years post-graduate marketing management experience, working with dozens of organisations to improve the effectiveness of their promotional activity.

His key strengths are in strategic thinking and planning, idea generation and campaign execution. Neil has an enviable track record in delivering successful marketing plans and promotions on time and within budget, with a clear focus on
measurable returns that support the overall goals of the client organisation.

Neil has a BA(Hons) degree in Business Administration, incorporating core models of the Chartered Institute of Marketing Diploma.
